Freedom Song Boatworks is the best source for high quality wood model boat kits. Most anyone can build our kits. Unlike other manufacturers the force you to build plank-by-plank, our kits use modern design techniques to make building faster and easier, while respecting the design of each and every boat.

On this site, you will find the finest quality wooden model boats. The model boats on these pages are made from the finest Maine lumber, including bass wood, birch and Maine pine. The kits include all the instructions and parts, stainless & brass wire, cast fittings, full size plans and simple instructions, but no plastic.

The proprietor -- Ted Stinson -- has proudly manufactured wooden trains, planes, and boat kits made from Maine lumber for more than 20 years. Stinson has always used quality wood when many businesses have switched to plastics. The designs are authentic and unique to Freedom Song Boatworks.

Our first model boat kit, for a radio controlled model sailboat, was introduced in 1972. Today, we manufacture more than 100 different kits which are offered to the public under various trade names.
